Here are the many old boys’ comments generated by Louis’ comprehensive blog ‘ Cumbrian War Memorials’, in particular with reference to the Charney Hall Memorial Hall.

CHARNEY HALL School Year/Team Photographs

Post updated March 14 2022 - more photographs added Post updated March 6 2024 - Football XI 1966 or 67? added Post updated May 8 2024 - Year 1896/7 added Recently sourced from the excellent article about the Podmore family by Frances Limbrey in June 2015, published by the Cartmel Peninsula Local History Society*, this is probably the first Charney Hall School Year photograph in existence. Taken around 1896 it features George and Matilda Podmore, their daughter Enid, two of their sons Eric and Hubert, together with 22 pupils.
