Just found these aerial photographs of the completed Grange Lido! (Credit : Cumbrian Eye) Whatever you may think of the proposed use let us congratulate the people of Grange-over-Sands for acheiving the impossible. Their tenacity in sourcing the funding and acheiving completion of this daunting project is to be truly admired.  Some may be sorry to see the saltwater pool disappear but for those who were too young to try it, I can honestly confirm that on the majority of days in the Summer Term it was an excruciating experience! Back in those days of the 1950s the much celebrated Cedric Robinson, former Queen’s Guide to the Sands, was our swimming instructor! HNY for 2026!
