CHARNEY HALL Keith Miller’s Movies

J Keith Miller (1954-1960) I have pleasure in posting some digitised film sent to me by Kim Miller, John Keith Miller’s wife. Keith attended Charney Hall between 1954-1960 when he went to Shrewsbury School. Sadly Keith died in January 2022 and Kim regrets that he did not discover the blog before his death. I quote her kind words and hope that all who recognise him and Patrick ‘Sid’ Watson will remember some good times! Post updated 6/7 March 2023 : A more up-to-date photo of the trophies shown. **Hannam family attendances, photo of Esther Hirst, additional text and personal note added.  Post updated 1 April 2023 : List of Challenge Cups added Post updated 20 June 2023 : 4 Deakin Cricket Challenge Cup added to list (unverified)   Charney Hall Silver Trophies Like the string of photographs (more mug shots of previous inmates) which graced the top of the dado moulding  encircling the School Dining Room I continue to wonder what ever happened to all those beautiful silver cups which were awarded annually after School Sports Week.  Fame and prestige were a fleeting affair as no sooner had the trophy been awarded it was taken away and returned to its rightful position in the Dining Room. No camera recorded the event, no evidence was left for posterity except perchance a mention by Maxwell Duncan in the Charney Hall Notes of that particular year. But if a boy dared to inspect the cup some days later, he w
